Café Mortel
Free and open to all. People gather, eat and drink something, and talk about death.
That’s the whole format. It’s a discussion group, not grief support and not counseling. No agenda, no themes, and nobody is trying to lead you toward a conclusion or sell you anything. The point, in the organizers’ words, is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives.
Run by Sandrine of the Nourish Collective, hosted at Transitions. This was previously called Death Café; the French name felt gentler to the people running it.
Come as you are, whether you’ve been before or not. There’s cake.
